HopeI once had a dream.
It was such a wonderful dream, too.
And when I woke up that morning,
I scrambled to a sheet of paper to write it down.

To remember that dream I had.
To know when things got eough,
I had that crisp white sheet.
Hope scrawled messily upon it.

In my dream, I was in my normal life.
Perhaps not that exciting, no.
But just wait!
There's so much more.

When I was asked if I was alright,
I could say "Yes, yes I am okay".
And I could feel deep within my heart,
That I was not lying, not one little bit.

When a smile tugged at my lips,
It came straight from my heart,
Shone like a million suns.
Replacing that over p

I'm SorryEvery other word that escapes her little lips,
is a over announced apology spilling like water from a tap.
She never knows what she's apologizing for,
she just knows there's a lot to say sorry to.

When someone bumps into her on the street,
she's so very sorry.
When she says the wrong answer to a math question,
she's so very sorry.

When he tells her she can try harder,
she's so very sorry.
When he shouts he doesn't love her anymore,
she's so terribly sorry.

Mock Masks and Faulty SmilesShe really is there,
deep down hiding in that fabric.
In those loose flowing t-shirts,
and baggy jeans and sneakers.

Underneath the ivory skin,
behind those big brown eyes,
and thick black eyelashes like curtains.
She really is there.

Sometimes people make eye-contact with her.
Occasionally they wish her a good morning.
She always replies with a smile and a wave.
When really she's screaming for help.

Pleading for someone, anyone to notice.
To realize that... underneath it all,
behind that fake smile and bubbly attitude-
That she's really not alright.

The Human HeartA heart breaking is a funny feeling,

It's like drowning.
Feeling all that water rushing into your lungs.
Nails digging into your shoulders to keep you down.
A murky image of the person holding you there above.

It's like ripping petals off a flower.
With each little white silky petal,
the flower loses a bit of itself.
And when all the petals are gone; it isn't really a flower anymore.

It's like getting lost in a forest.
Soon, everything starts to look the same.
There's nothing exciting, there's no hope or change.
You find your way out, though... eventually.

It's like attending your own funeral.
Watching on the sidelines as people

PresentIt's hard to know where you're going,
When you had no idea in the first place.
It's impossible to carve out your future,
Because it's always just out of reach.

They say it's called the present
Because every day is a gift.
I like to think that everyday is Christmas
Or Hanuka or New Years or something.

I always get asked why
But I can't ever really say.
Because sometimes I find
It's really hard to describe love.

You're BeautifulIn that disgusting, slobbery way of his he said I was beautiful.
With those half closed, glazed eyes he looked at me.
Those teeth, yellow as the fire hydrant in front of my house.
Crusty, grimey fingernails teared at my thigh as his hand slid.

He was the man who lived next door to my family and I.
He had a little dog named Bill who used to run into our yard.
I always thought it was funny how he had a humans name.
His name however wasn't nearly as funny, not now anyway.

My neighbor, standing a average 6'1" always used to be out in the yard.
I never noticed he was only out when I walked home from school.
Always working on his flower

Thought I'd make myself look pretty today. And then take advantage of the beautiful sunny day, it makes fantastic lighting. I'm aware the image is somewhat motion-blurred but bear with me, my camera's a piece of junk.

regardless of the quality, this is a beautiful picture of you. in fact, the blur almost looks like a cool, intentional effect.

I think this picture just cemented my idea that Canada has some of the best looking people
